One of the main highlights of Hanuman Jayanti is the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, a hymn composed by the saint Tulsidas in the sixteenth century. It consists of forty verses in praise of Hanuman and is believed to bring good luck and protection to those who recite it with devotion.

Another important aspect of Hanuman Jayanti is the reading of the Ramayana, the ancient Indian epic that narrates the story of Lord Rama and his journey to rescue his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana. Hanuman played a pivotal role in the story by helping Rama defeat Ravana and restore order to the kingdom. Therefore, reading the Ramayana is considered to be a way of honoring Hanuman's devotion and service to Rama.

In some parts of India, Hanuman Jayanti is also celebrated by organizing processions and cultural programs. People dress up as Hanuman and perform various acts from the Ramayana, such as the lifting of the Sanjeevani mountain or the burning of Lanka. These events attract large crowds of people who come to witness the spectacle and pay their respects to Hanuman.
